Foundation Tips

A solid foundation ensures a stable greenhouse. Visit our Greenhouse Foundation Guide for detailed tips, measurements, and best practices. Note that our aluminium parts are labeled by profile and length (e.g., L630-2596 indicates a base piece profile, 2596mm or approx. 8ft long).

Foundation Kits

• Smaller Greenhouses (6x6ft to 6x12ft, 8x6ft to 8x12ft): Include standard corner stakes.
• Larger Greenhouses (6x16ft and up, 8x16ft and up, 10ft range): Include additional foundation mounting kits, also available for purchase separately for smaller models.

Shipping Information

All greenhouses are shipped to your nearest MainFreight Depot for pickup. You’ll need to arrange a trailer at the depot:

• Polycarbonate Greenhouses: Can be lifted by two people and typically fit in a truck or van.
• Glass Greenhouses: Require a forklift to load crates onto a trailer. Visit our Shipping Page for package weights and dimensions.

Important: Inspect your greenhouse upon receipt to verify all parts are included. We cannot be held liable for missing parts reported after 60 days.

Greenhouse Materials: Glass, Polycarbonate, or Film?

Choosing the right material is key. Here’s a quick comparison:

• Glass: Offers clarity and durability but may require more maintenance.
• Polycarbonate: Lightweight, UV-resistant, and impact-resistant for long-term use.
• Film: Cost-effective but less durable in extreme conditions. Our kitset greenhouses don't offer film as an option, but we have a tunnel house series that uses polygro film.

Things to Know

• Not 100% Watertight: Like most residential greenhouses, our structures are designed for plant housing, not as fully watertight dwellings. Occasional drips may occur during rain or due to condensation. Apply silicone to problem areas for a quick fix.
